Soca, short for "Soul of Calypso," is a genre of music that originated in the Caribbean, specifically Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹, during the 1970s. It evolved from Calypso music and is characterized by its fast-paced rhythms, infectious melodies, and vibrant energy, making it the heartbeat of Carnival celebrations across the Caribbean. Soca blends African and Caribbean beats with East Indian musical influences, creating a unique and powerful sound that encourages dancing, joy, and unity. Unlike Latin Soca, West Indian Soca is deeply rooted in the culture and traditions of the Caribbean, often celebrated with festive events like Jouvert and Mas, where the music's lively spirit brings people together to "get on bad" and celebrate life.

Wet-Up Soca® 💦 is designed for everybody and every-body type, regardless of fitness level or dance experience. The classes are adaptable, making it accessible and enjoyable for all. Please check with your health care provider prior to engaging in any exercise program to ensure safety and feasibility based on your personal health circumstance(s).

No dance experience is required! While there is a bit of choreography during class, it's like unto general aerobic classes with guided cues and vocal instructions.  Wet-Up Soca is all about having fun and moving to the beat, so just come ready to enjoy yourself.

Bring a towel, water bottle, comfortable workout clothes / footwear, and a positive attitude. Get ready to sweat and have a blast!

For your safety, please do not wear open-toe shoes, sandals, slides, Crocs, or beach-shoes of any kind.  

Each class typically lasts 45-50 minutes, providing a full-body workout that incorporates cardio, muscle conditioning, and flexibility exercises.
